Charlotte from Flying Colours Pottery approached us in the summer of 2020. Like so many, her small business had had to adapt to the ‘new normal’. 

Charlotte wanted a film to show her customers just how seriously she was taking the Coronavirus situation. The film needed to demonstrate the measures that she had put in place to ensure her business was running in a Covid compliant manner. Equally it was really important to show that despite Covid-19, there were activities that could run safely and some fun could still be had! 

Having worked alongside Charlotte in other settings and having used her services (Charlotte supplies amazing ‘Take Away’ pottery painting boxes for parties and events) we were delighted to help Charlotte make this film.

The film starts with us seeing Charlotte at work. It goes on to show a ‘walk-through’ of what her clients can expect under the new Covid health and safety guidelines.

Charlotte talks directly to camera for much of the film, explaining in detail how her baby footprint appointments now run. We see her cleaning the equipment down and taking a footprint from a baby.

Then we are back at Charlotte’s studio as she glazes the pottery and pops it into the kiln for firing (fab shot here!)

The film does exactly what Charlotte intended - it gives a really good idea of what her clients can expect from their session whilst reassuring them that Flying colours Pottery is invested in customer safety and Covid compliancy.

It doesn’t stop there though! On the day of the shoot we took plenty of footage to create another promo video for Charlotte. One that will work beyond the current Covid crisis and highlights all the many services and products that Charlotte provides.

The promotional video that Fergus filmed for me has been imperative in helping my business to stay afloat this past year. Having it filmed professionally demonstrates to my customers that I have taken the Covid secure health and safety measures seriously and it has insured that they are well-informed. 

I felt nervous about putting myself in front of the camera but, on the day, Fergus made me feel relaxed and gently encouraged me through every step, despite me having to do several takes when I fluffed my lines! 

The end result was fabulous, he captured the essence of my business perfectly ensuring that I came across both professional and friendly! 

The investment was well worth it, especially as the footage can be edited to also provide a non-Covid promotional video which can therefore be used in the future once all this is behind us!
